And as love grew, so did devotion. When he returned to Japan, Isamu brought back not only his determination to make the world a better place as a cop but also a loved one and a child in his lover's belly. That was how Hiruma was born.Life was perfect for Isamu, yet secrets began to unfold when his lover left without a word—leaving him nothing but a letter. She was Nemesis, the goddess of revenge and retribution, and soon Isamu had to deal with the fact that his son hadn't been entirely human. What he didn't know was that it wasn't the worst of his fate. The Moirai sisters had spun their threads, and his would end in a miserable demise.
CHAPTER 00.
Perhaps it had always been in him; the burning flame of vengeance. It flowed in his blood, resided in his heart, born with him as close as a twin brother. It was proof of his parent's love—the remaining trace of his mother; the ever-consuming flame of maintaining equilibrium.Where there is light, there is darkness.Where there is joy, there is sorrow.Hiruma had been a happy child in Nara. Contrary to popular belief, his step-mother wasn't evil and his step-sister was the most adorable in the world. He never knew his biological mother—always knew the woman he called Okaasan wasn't his own. He didn't pry, and he was not the one to seek unnecessary truth when he had everything in his life.Yet darkness loomed over his roof.At the tender age of 7, his entire family was murdered. It's a murderer on the run, they said. Oh, poor child. To have a fate this cruel. He was only safe by some sort of a miracle, hiding inside the wardrobe in his parent's bedroom—hidden behind abundance of clothes. While he hadn't seen the horrors of the night, he had heard it—the screams, the vivid sounds of homicide, and the ear-deafening silence that came with it.In an instant, Hiruma's life had turned into a nightmare. And though he ended up in a relative's house with adults expecting him to live a normal life, he vowed to never forget the tattoo on the back of the murderer's hand when he had stepped in front of the wardrobe—only shy away from finding the only survivor.
Hiruma found out he wasn't a normal human when his father's colleagues—fellow cops—gave him the remaining items of his family, which includes his mother's letter towards his father.it didn't deter his determination to find his family's murderer, only fueled it further.A child shouldn't bear a thirst for blood, yet it stayed like a gnawing plague inside him. While he had smiled as a normal child would, remained as good as he could, he wouldn't and couldn't forget. He prayed to his mother, that he would be able to enact justice to the demon. At the age of 12, his prayer was answered when he met a strange man at the park near his school. A man with a saccharine smile, who wouldn't look like he would hurt a fly, approached him and his friends with a warm personality. But appearance could be deceiving and personality could be feigned. Hiruma knew it firsthand. It only took a minute for Hiruma to witness the abomination on the back of his hand—a distinct tattoo reminiscent of that night. This was the man he was looking for.At the age of 12, with the knowledge of being something half human and that monsters hungered for his life, Hiruma had indirectly killed a man—using himself as a bait, utilizing the monster's strength to pummel the man to death by falling rubbles.By the age of 12, Hiruma had first purposefully taken a human's life.
「なんて言うてんの?殺人ちゃう、ただの正当な復讐やで。」(Nante iu ten no? Satsujin chau, tada no seitou na fukushuu ya de.)"What are you saying? This isn't murder, it's merely a justified revenge."
